Last week, I had the honor of attending a ceremony that gave the lovely Village of Leiper’s Fork, a Main Street designation.  Williamson County is one of only two counties, in the state, to have two Main Street designations.  It is an honor and a great benefit to those in the community that is chosen.  With the help of the National trust for Historic Preservation and its Main Street Program, the communities are encouraged to engage in partnerships that enhance the community while maintaining the historic character.

This little village definitely HAS some “Character”!!!  Let me introduce you to one of the locals who was present at the designation ceremony!  This is Arnold the pig, who was a guest at the beautiful Leiper’s Creek Gallery where the ceremony was held.

“Only in Leiper’s Fork!”  That is something I say often when visiting this great village.  There are delicious restaurants, unique shops and beautiful galleries.  Now this is not unusual for a Main street, but the thing that sets this Main street apart are the people.  It is alive with energy, creativity and southern hospitality.  I have been to many events in Leiper’s Fork and love it everytime.  I have included some of my favorite visits with pictures below.

Here is a booth from the Leipers Fork Chili cookoff!  This event happens in October and is DELICIOUS FUN!!  The whole village comes out to compete along with other competitors from around the state!  Everyone gets into the spirit and the results are great costumes and yummy chili!

Here are two fun shots from the Annual Christmas Parade.  It is like nothing you have ever seen.  Tractors, out houses on boats, puppies and the General Lee are just a few of the participants!  A true Leiper’s Fork Village Christmas parade and not to be missed.

And last, but not least, is one of my favorite shots of the Leiper’s Creek gallery in the Fall.  Just beautiful!

This village has so many great experiences to offer all through out the year.  It is amazing to have two really great classic Main Streets just minutes away from where I live and play.  Congratulations Leiper’s Fork, I look forward many unique events and visits on your Main Street!
